Bonus rooms, converted garages, and older Surrey, ND homes without existing ducts can still get reliable heating and cooling. CoolEdge HVAC Services installs ductless mini-splits designed to fit the space you actually have.
Ductless mini-split systems shine in home additions, finished basements, converted garages, and older houses where running new ductwork would be expensive or disruptive. They're also a smart option for carving out independently controlled comfort zones inside an existing home.
Since each indoor head runs on its own, a mini-split setup lets separate rooms hold separate temperatures — something a single central system typically can't do.
We start by looking at the space to be conditioned — one room or several — and use that to guide how many indoor units you need and where they should go. Outdoor unit placement factors in available space, sound, and future access for servicing.
On multi-zone jobs, we map out refrigerant line routing in advance to keep the finished install clean and unobtrusive.
Our install process covers mounting the indoor head(s), positioning the outdoor compressor, connecting refrigerant lines and electrical wiring, and running the system through both heating and cooling modes to verify performance. Each zone is checked to confirm it responds correctly to its own controls.
Before we leave, we walk you through the remote controls and basic upkeep so your new system performs the way it should.
Many systems support several indoor heads connected to a single outdoor compressor, and we'll help you figure out the right setup for your home.
Indoor units tend to run quietly, and we plan outdoor unit placement to keep noise away from the spaces you use most.
The vast majority of the systems we install handle both heating and cooling through the same equipment.
